Storytelling That Heals: The Vision Behind Project Bluebird

To Those Who Believe in the Power of Story,

I chase stories that shape souls and shift perspectives. Sometimes, those stories lead me to people like Sunny Dooley.

Sunny is a master Navajo storyteller—one of the few women trained in the traditional art of Diné oral storytelling. Her voice carries generations of wisdom, woven with the spirit of the land she calls home.

I recently had the honor of helping create a short film that shares her vision: transforming her family land and hogan into a place where storytelling, healing, and heritage can flourish. It’s a sacred space, but it’s nearly inaccessible—cut off by an impassable dirt road and without access to water.

That’s where Project Bluebird begins.

This campaign isn’t just about infrastructure. It’s about clearing the path for stories to be told—for generations to come.

With your help, we can:

  • Gravel the road to Sunny’s ancestral home
  • Provide access to fresh water
  • Begin restoring the home where the voices of the past and future can meet

This is storytelling work at its deepest level
